SECURITY AND TRANSPORT SPECIAL INTEREST GROUP On the 31st August the New Security Programme hosted a special interest group to discuss the security considerations for transport infrastructure surrounding a major event. Our guest speaker was Prof. Philippe Bovy the IOC Olympics Transport Advisor. Philippe (pictured) has been involved in all Olympic Games since the early ?80?s, and he is the world expert on security and transportation issues.

With attacks on cultural icons and tourist targets increasing, The New Security Programme hosted a Special Interest Group Meeting on Tuesday 12th September at the Army & Navy Club, London, to consider ?Threats to Leading Visitor Attractions.? The meeting was organised with the support of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA).

The New Security Programme is pleased to announce that a high level delegation from the Beijing Olympic Committee will attend the New Security Programme?s forthcoming conference on Tourism and Major Event Security. The delegation will be lead by Mr Liu Shao Wo, Vice Director of the Beijing Public Security Bureau who will also give a keynote address at the conference.
